Probiotic dessert: Mixmi Froyo prioritizes gut health in new frozen yogurt

A new gut-friendly dessert might be found the frozen food section of your grocery store. Mixmi Froyo is a frozen yogurt that contains billions of live and active cultures to help boost your microbiome. It’s now available in certain supermarkets across the country.

In addition to traditional cultures found in frozen yogurt, Mixmi adds four probiotic cultures to the product. That include Bifidobacterium BB-12, which is one of the world’s most documented cultures known to support digestive and immune health. It’s been described in 300 different scientific publications since it started being used in 1986, according to The Probiotics Institute.

“In these times we want to help support America’s digestive function and immune health with a delicious and portion-controlled 90 calorie per serving dessert that tastes like premium ice cream,” says Chris Harlander, co-founder of Mixmi Froyo, in a statement.

The dessert comes in a 4-pack of 4-ounce cups in six flavors: Ultimate Chocolate, Orange Dream, Más Mango, Mint Chocolate, Vanilla Cupcake, and Totally Vanilla. Harlander says the yogurt is crafted without artificial ingredients. “We are in the business of improving America’s gut health one cup at a time,” he adds.

Mixmi Froyo can be found at Kroger, Fred Meyer, Ralph’s, Smith’s, Roundy’s, Mariano’s, Pick ‘N Save, Metro Market, and HEB stores nationwide.
